Iron in Focus: The Science Behind Availability
Why iron becomes unavailable in challenging soils — and how advanced chelation keeps it accessible to plants.

Most conversations about fertilizer start and end with the analysis on the bag. Nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, a list of micronutrients — and then the discussion moves on to price. What that list never tells you is how the product behaves in the moment it matters most: when it meets water.
That behaviour is decided long before the bag is filled. It is decided by physical structure — and physical structure is something you can engineer.
In a spray-dry process the formulation is first brought into a homogeneous liquid phase. Every nutrient, chelate and auxiliary component is dissolved or dispersed together, so the mixture is uniform at a scale far smaller than a granule. This liquid is then atomised into a drying chamber, where each droplet loses its water in seconds and becomes a microgranule.
The result is a particle that carries the complete formulation inside itself. A single microgranule is not a fragment of one raw material sitting next to a fragment of another — it is the whole recipe, in miniature, repeated millions of times across the bag.
A blended product is a mixture of particles. A spray-dried product is a particle that is itself the mixture.
Dry blends separate. Different raw materials have different particle sizes, densities and flow behaviour, so transport, handling and even the act of scooping product out of a bag will sort them. The dose at the top of the bag is not the dose at the bottom, and the nutrient ratio the plant receives is not the ratio that was designed.
With microgranules there is nothing to separate, because there is only one kind of particle. The first litre of solution in the tank and the last one have the same composition.
Fully water-soluble means exactly that: no sediment in the tank, no film on the filter, no blocked drippers. Because the particles are small, porous and already carry their components in an intimately mixed state, they dissolve quickly and completely, even in cool water.
The point of all this is not elegance in the factory. It is that nutrient availability, application accuracy and equipment reliability are all downstream of particle design. When the particle is right, the agronomy becomes predictable — and predictability is what a grower is actually paying for.
